Outrage As Police In Saudi Arabia Detains Model For Wearing Mini Skit And Posting It On Snapchat (Video)
The Saudi authorities have detained a woman who was featured in a social media video wearing a miniskirt and a crop-top as she strolled through a Saudi city, according to a Saudi police statement.
In the statement, the woman, who's being investigated by the police in Riyadh police, told them that "the viral videos were published by an account attributed to her without her knowledge,'
The statement also indicated that the woman's case has been referred to the general prosecution department in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
In a statement by the spokesperson for the Presidency of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, also known as the religious police, he said the group was monitoring the issue and taking the 'necessary steps' to address a viral video depicting a "girl in offensive clothing."

According to CNN, the woman’s midriff top and mini skirt attire were in violation of the country’s strict dress code for women. In Saudi Arabia, women are required to wear an abaya, which is loose-fitting clothing and cover their hair.
Although, the snaps have sparked heated debate, with social media users in the region around the hashtag #?????_??????_????_????, which translates as "the trial of Khulood the model is a must.' Some of them are defending the girl, pointing out the privileges afforded to Western women by Saudi authorities.
US First Lady Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump, daughter of the president, did not cover their hair when they visited Saudi Arabia in May.
